New Build - Bungalow Bliss

The brief was to renovate and extend a 1970’s bungalow 'bliss' and from this create a contemporary home which mimics the Irish barn building which surround the immediate context.

The barn allowed us to accommodate  four bedrooms, home office and a gym. Utilising the high vaulted ceilings of the proposed typology to bring light into the building and create powerful spaces.

The result was the creation of a contemporary two storey barn house, which seamlessly sits in its rural context. The project utilised large floor to ceiling heights with stunning curved vaulted ceilings carrying from the entrance hall up to the first floor. Living spaces were focused around large double height spaces which used a stove as a focal point.

Throughout the house large, carefully placed windows frame various views over the countryside.
