Malahide North Facing Extension

The brief was to reuse an existing extension but rethink its use and how it works with the existing house and Garden. The clients wanted to try and pull light in from a North Facing rear garden and create an open plan focal point to the house.

 

The house was to have a connection with the coastal location and this was achieved though a pastel color palette and new roof form resembling a boat mast.​

The budget was restrictive which meant using strucutral elements to create natural textures and architectural elements within the spaces. The result was a contemporary family home that pays homagé to the history of the sites coastal location.
